Internationalization

I have conducted various research stays and international collaborations, including University College London (UCL) and St Andrews University in the UK, Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes in Mexico, Côa Valley and University of Aveiro in Portugal, Universidad de Costa Rica and Universidad Técnica Nacional in Costa Rica, and Rachel Carson Center at LMU Munich in Germany.

Teaching

My teaching record includes more than 350 hours in official undergraduate and master’s programs in Philosophy, Anthropology, Politics, Economics, and Environmental Sciences. I am currently also part of the University of Murcia Teaching Innovation Project on Biolaw, Bioethics and Cinema (2025-2026), integrating environmental ethics into curricular academia.

Supervising

I have supervised several undergraduate theses, and five postgraduate researchers (MA and JAE-Intro in Philosophy, MSc in Ecology, and MSc in Environmental Science).

Leadership

I have acted as PI of two competitive project grants, including a €30,000 Fundación BBVA project (2022–23) leading a seven-member interdisciplinary team, and a €2,000 Transition Network International project (2020). I am also track lead at the Atlas Bioethics Center, member of Laboratorio Iberoamericano de Ética de Salud Pública (LIBERESP), and editorial board of the journal Arjé (UTN).

R&D projects

I am part of many funded academic projects. Many of them fall within public health ethics, where my role is to advance novel theoretical insights into environmental health, inform decision-making in practice (such as advising the Spanish Ministry of Health on One Health ethics), and provide scientific evidence on biases in digital health. Here, interdisciplinary collaboration with healthcare professionals and epidemiologists becomes crucial. I am also involved in projects carried out in collaboration with legal scholars, veterinarians, and toxicologists, all of whom are committed to rethinking the challenges of ecological restoration strategies and the implementation of the One Health approach. Finally, I am part of another project with colleagues from environmental politics and the philosophy of science through which we analyze the existential risks of the Anthropocene and discuss the risks posed by high-tech developments.

Advisory

I have served on PhD committees and advisory bodies, including the expert bank of the Spanish State Research Agency, the Health Care Ethics Committee of Hospital Universitario Josep Trueta, and the IUCN. I have also served as reviewer over 20 occasions in Q1 and Q2-indexed journals across my fields of research.
